Study Shows Brand X Effective for Elderly Hypertensive Patients
November 13, 2023

BRANDTON, KS - New clinical trial data presented this week at the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions demonstrates the effectiveness of Brand X (fictusapril) for reducing blood pressure in elderly patients with hypertension.

The placebo-controlled study enrolled 278 patients over age 65 with moderately high blood pressure. Patients were randomized to receive either Brand X or placebo once daily for 12 weeks.

Results showed those in the Brand X group achieved significantly greater blood pressure reduction compared to placebo. Average systolic blood pressure dropped by 11 mmHg for Brand X patients vs 4 mmHg for placebo.

"This new evidence demonstrates Brand X can achieve meaningful blood pressure lowering for elderly hypertensive patients to a similar degree we see in younger studied populations," said lead investigator Dr. Linda Park. "With its favorable tolerability, Brand X should be considered a first-line treatment option for older adults."

The safety profile of Brand X was consistent with previous studies, with no new safety signals. The most common side effects compared to placebo were dizziness, fatigue, and headache.

"This adds to the growing body of evidence supporting Brand X as an important treatment option for diverse patient demographics with hypertension warranting drug therapy," said CEO of Pharma Co AG.
