Brand X (fictusapril)
Indication
Brand X is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
Dosing and Administration
- Starting dose: 20 mg orally once daily
- Maximum dose: 80 mg orally once daily
- Take consistently with or without food
- Titrate at intervals of 2-4 weeks
Dosage Adjustments
- Renal impairment: Start at lower end of dosing range and titrate slowly
- Hepatic impairment: Maximum 40 mg daily
Important Safety Information
- Rarely causes hypotension after first dose
- Angioedema has been reported - discontinue if occurs
- Hyperkalemia risk - monitor potassium closely
- Avoid use in pregnancy
Adverse Reactions
Most common adverse reactions are dizziness, hyperkalemia, and increased creatinine.
Drug Interactions
- Increased risk of hyperkalemia with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics
- Increased risk of renal impairment with NSAIDs
